Frank & Fran Hahn Galapagos Travellers Also Have EmergenciesDear MarcelYou will have heard by now that we have had to go to Spain, via the UK, as Graham's mother has been taken gravely ill. Both Paul and Veronica were extremely helpful to us and also the hotel. As far as we are aware we have cancelled all remaining hotels and tours via Veronica. We were unable to get a refund for our airfare Quito-Lima so I will try to write to LAN-PERU on our return from Spain - can you supply their address please. They were not at the Airport in either Quito or Miami as we had been advised. The reason for non use of this fare was because we travelled direct from Quito to UK without going through Lima. Please advise what refund you can obtain for us from cancellations of tours and hotels. We need to know a cash value, broken down, of expenditure that we have had to cancel. We have contacted our insurers and they will need all this detailed information. We really enjoyed all the time we spent in Peru and Ecuador and our guides were excellent. We hope to come back to go to the Galapagos, possibly Spring of next year, so if they will not give a cash refund, perhaps they can issue a credit note as, I believe, our tickets were valid for a year. Perhaps this could apply to hotels and tours that we have had to cancel, ie Nazca/Ica. We are off to Spain very early and hope to hear from you on our return. Please give our best regards to Veronica and your drivers. Vincente was very kind to take us to the airport so early in the morning.
